ParaQuad Tasmania recognises Men’s Health Week 2022 (13-19 June)  and World Continence Week (20-26 June) as time to recognise and highlight the health challenges faced by men.

In particular we’d like to raise the issue of male incontinence and share information on where to find help.

The Australian Continence Foundation (CFA) reports that 1.3 million boys and men (that’s 1 in 10) experience incontinence. It says around 30% of men who visit their doctor are affected by incontinence, but more than 60% don’t mention it.

If you go to their website here you will find a wealth of information about bladder control, bowel control and pelvic floor health.

You will find articles about prevention, living with incontinence, caring for someone with the issue and much more.

And there is a National Continence Helpline, 1800 330 066, a free telephone service staffed by Nurse Continence Specialists, which you can call for confidential information, advice and support. This Helpline is funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Health.

PQ Tasmania Healthcare Supplies (owned and operated by the ParaQuad Association of Tasmania) stocks a large range of continence products, including those designed specifically for men. You can order online, with delivery to your door.
